Michael Doubek Community Service Award

 
Each year the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association presents the Michael Doubek Community Service Award to an Association member in recognition of volunteer service unrelated to the practice of law to one or more of the community’s non-profit organizations. The community service award was renamed in 2018 to honor Michael Doubek, outgoing executive director of the Association.

William S. Meador Award

 
Each year the Young Lawyers Division presents the William S. Meador Award to a young attorney who distinguishes themselves by their commitment to our community through charitable and civil service. The Award was established in 2005 to honor the legacy left by Bill Meador, of practicing law with integrity, sincerity and courtesy while recognizing Bill’s commitment of giving back to the community.

The Judge Ross Goodman Civility and Professionalism Award

 
Established in July 2021 in honor of retired Circuit Judge Ross Goodman, this award is known as the Judge Ross Goodman Civility and Professionalism Award. It is bestowed to an ESRBA member whose dedication to Professionalism, Civility and Ethics exemplifies the character, commitment to the profession and to the administration of justice, of Judge Ross Goodman. Any member in good standing (except a Member of the current Executive Council and the Awards Committee) of ESRBA is eligible for the award.

 

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Candidates for this award must have exhibited behavior demonstrating one or more of the following criteria:

•             Conducted themselves with professionalism, civility and the highest degree of ethics, always exhibiting integrity, honor, courtesy and a sense of fair play.

•             Educated the public about the civil justice system and the rule of law.

•             Contributed their skill, knowledge and efforts to enhance and educate the profession.

•             Demonstrated a commitment to mentorship and serving others

The Liberty Bell Award

 
The purpose of the Liberty Bell Award program is to recognize community service that has strengthened the American system of freedom under law and to accord public recognition to men and women, particularly non-lawyers, for outstanding service in one of these areas: promoting a better understanding of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights; encouraging greater respect of law and the courts; stimulating a deeper sense of individual responsibility so that citizens recognize their duties as well as their rights; contributing to the effective functioning of our institutions of government; and fostering a better understanding and appreciation of the rule of law.
