Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Awarded Grants

PENSACOLA, Fla. – January 29, 2019 – The Young Lawyers Division of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association (ESRBA) was recently awarded two $400 grants from The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. The projects recognized are representative of the diverse professional and community-focused activities of the ESRBA Young Lawyers Division.

A Roundtable Grant was awarded for the annual “You’ve Got the JD, Now What?” Panel Program, which is held each year in June at Emmanuel, Sheppard and Condon. The program provides an opportunity for young attorneys, law students, and clerks to get tips on topics such as transition to practice, work-life balance, professionalism, and mentorship from a panel of local attorneys and a judge who have practiced in different areas of the law. A networking event follows the panel discussion.

A Community Service Holidays Grant was awarded in support of participation in FamiliesFirst Network’s “Operation Santa.”  The funds enabled the local Young Lawyers Division to fulfill the Christmas wish lists of eight children served by FamiliesFirst Network. Members shopped, wrapped, and delivered the gifts to “Santa’s workshop.”

The Young Lawyers Division provides Escambia-Santa Rosa Bar Association member attorneys age 35 or younger or who have five or fewer years of legal practice with opportunities to form professional relationships with peers, network with seasoned attorney and engage with the community.
